Once you clear the indoor exhibits and ascend to the upper decks, you can test your limits on two newly introduced architectural experiences.
The Famous Beam Walk (“The Beam”)
On the 69th floor, you can step directly into history. Recreating the iconic 1932 photograph “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper,” visitors are buckled onto a realistic metal replica beam. The platform lifts you 12 feet into the air and rotates out over the edge of the building, letting you look straight down at the bustling streets of Manhattan below just like the construction workers did.
The Skylift
Located on the topmost 70th floor, the Skylift is the ultimate finale to the experience. This circular, open-air glass platform elevates up to 13 guests an additional 30 feet above the building’s highest deck. Hovering nearly 900 feet over Manhattan, it gently rotates a full 360 degrees. Because it lifts you completely clear of the deck’s glass safety walls, it provides the only entirely unobstructed, panoramic views of the city skyline.
